Some of my first memories of my cousin Roy K were when we lived next to them just after World War II. He was a cute, blond intelligent boy who was curious and happy with the world around him. He was a few years younger and was closer to my brother Brent, but we shared many of the same experiences; i.e., trips to Kelly's Grove, putting flowers on our relative's graves in Springville and Mapleton, Fourth of July and Christmas celebrations at Grandpa Bird's house. Roy always had a good story to tell Grandpa Bird; they enjoyed each other's company. When we moved out of state I kept up on Roy's life through my parents and Aunt Glenna and Uncle Roy. He had many fine accomplishments that they shared. He was a great cousin, and I am sorry he is gone.
