I thank Jane for sending me your address so I can express my sorrow at the loss of your husband/father/grandfather. I am the oldest cousin from the Virg Bird family. My mother is Virginia and Uncle Roy and mom share the same birthday - 2 years apart. As a young child I lived in Springville almost next door to Uncle Roy and Aunt Glenna. I remember well Roy K and Glenn. I remember them the most when they lived across the street from the park. We were at family gatherings frequently. Because I was the oldest and because they were boys we didn't have a lot in common. But I knew Roy K (that is how I called him) was very smart and was a very sweet boy. We followed his activities and accomplishments through my parents and his parents. I moved away from Springville in the 3rd grade so our contact wasn't very frequent after that time.
My husband and I send our very deep condolences to a masterful educator and a member of the family. I pray that all of your memories will be those of fun, love, respect and admiration. May you find peace in your souls that all is well.
