10 days ago I was eagerly awaiting the ripening of my first ever garden tomato. As this is the first year I have actually planted a vegetable garden, I’ve been a little consumed by it. Every time I harvest anything I post a picture on my blog and talk aimlessly about it. Of course I didn’t really expect anyone else in the world to care about it. As it turns out, though, somebody did care. I quickly came to look forward to short comments like “Nice shots of your garden, Lora” from my Dad. I thought I’d be thrilled to consume the first of my favorite harvest. Yet, today has been my most empty day since I received the dreadful call last Thursday.
